The introduction of a bull to the feria programme this year has been contentious. The village is divided: some feel a bull run on Easter Monday is quite enough, whilst others relish an extra ingredient in the feria mix.
There are many who are fiercely opposed to animal cruelty and as a concession to this, the summer run was shorter with fewer bulls…
…but it still cut the village in half and many businesses resented the impact on their establishments in this, one of the busiest weekends of the summer.
Nevertheless, whilst not attracting the thousands who flock to the Easter Bull Run from nearby villages, the event attracted at least one coachload from a neighbouring association and runners were not in short supply.
It was a street photographer’s dream but was it a bull too far?
